Sleeping gets Technical

I was shopping for a new contour pillow last night when I found something that is a cross between a pillow and an iPod! It’s called the “Sound Asleep” pillow.

I began to immediately think about how I could listen to podcasts and all the teleclasses that I have on mp3. I also thought about listening to my favourite 80s tunes while lying in bed. Somehow this didn’t sound ideal for lying in bed. When I hear 80s music I start to sing and dance!

My husband, who is not as techie as I am, interrupted my thoughts with a smart way to make use of the “Sound Asleep” pillow. He said “Oh! It’s probably for listening therapeutic sounds to help you fall asleep.” “Oh, you mean like ocean waves or birds chirping in the amazon!…That’s not what I was thinking!”, I replied.

So do I have a problem relaxing or do I just associate the iPod with podcasts, teleclasses and danceable music only?  What would you use the “Sound Asleep” pillow for?

Could you go Tech-Less?

Yesterday two families were challenged by Oprah. The challenge was to go one week without spending money, take only one trip to the grocery store, take-out was not allowed, eat dinner as a family each day, no over time and no technology! *gasp*

I’m totally cool with the whole challenge and I could do it, but we’d have to remove the “no technology” piece! I couldn’t go tech-less for a full week! I could do it if I was on vacation and I’ve done that before. When I was in Africa I vowed I would not touch a computer and I didn’t. I went computer-less for a whole month! You might think that is easy, but there were more internet cafes in southern Africa then you would imagine.

But Oprah’s challenge meant that both families were stripped of their TVs, video games, mobile phones, laptops, stereos, satellites and their home phones! Once Oprah’s producer cleaned out their homes, one of the teenager’s sarcastic reaction was “What do I do now? Read a book?”

Could you go Tech-Less? If so, what would you do with your time?

Getting Rapid Results & Profits for the anti-recession Business Owner

The economy is not a reason its an excuse!” says Stacey Hylen, The Business
Optimizer Coach. I couldn’t agree more which is why 2009 has been a highly profitable year for anyone I know who doesn’t let the recession run their lives!

As I interviewed Stacey about her upcoming “Rapid Profit Boosters” event I learned that Stacey is not running “another teleconference” she really thought this through and customized it so that participants implement not just learn. You see, each speaker is allotted 20 minutes to answer the key questions that business owners like yourself want to know. I like this format because you go straight to the good stuff, no fluff!

So why not block the whole hour off and use the remaining 40 minutes to implement what you just learned! Brilliant! So shut your office door, mute everything that beeps or rings and as Stacey suggests “take the next 40 minutes to see how you will implement what you just learned into your business and take action“.

“Don’t just learn…implement” – Stacey Hylen, The Business Optimizer Coach

Rapid Profit Boosters has a solid line-up of 13 speakers who are experts and leaders in their industry, including Carrie Wilkerson, internet marketer of the year!

What will these experts talk about? Topics range from list building, to social media, to video, to profitable workshops, to expanding your client list and more!

How much is it? It’s free! Yes free! “I have made this live event free because I feel so strongly in the importance of this information and want all business owners to be able to attend”, Stacey said.

What if I want more? For only $97 you get:

  1. Complete Audio Downloads of All 13 Expert Teleseminars
  2. Complete Written Transcripts
  3. Rapid Implementation Call (a $97 value)
  4. 2 FREE months of the Business Optimization Coaching Program* (a $394 value)
    and 5 more bonus offers!

The best $97 you’ll spend! Why do I think this? I think the recordings themselves will be of great value today, next week, 3 months from now, 6 months from now and so on. You see, anytime you learn something, you learn it but there is always fall off. Your business will be in a different space now and 90 days from now. Some concepts you won’t need now but you will need in the future. It’s not like calculus that you needed to learn back in the day but don’t need as a business owner! Everything covered in the “Rapid Profit Boosters” event is valuable now and a year from now for any business owner!

Stacey Hylen, Host of
Rapid Profit Boosters

I’d also take up Stacey on the “Rapid Implementation Call” and the “2 Free months of the Business Optimization Coaching Program” that are offered in the $97 package! Stacey’s coaches with Chet Holmes and Tony Robbins. Her coaching is not cheap, in fact her coaching costs thousands of dollars per month. So take her up on the offer, save yourself $1,000′s and take her up on the offer, you business deserves it!

I invite you to check out the Rapid Profit Boosters event that begins Monday April 27th! It is free to attend all of the calls and ask the experts the burning questions you’ve been waiting to get answers!

I’ll “see” you on the Rapid Profit Boosters calls!

Where I’ve Been and What I’ve Been Upto

A number of people have been contacting me and asking me why they haven’t received their newsletter and wondering if they were unsubscribed by accident. Have no fear, you were not unsubscribed. Here’s a brief summary of where, why and what I’ve been upto.

I always take a break from my newsletter during the holidays, but the week before Christmas I had a few interesting things happen. First the adapter for my laptop died 2 days before I was due to attend a mastermind meeting in Syracuse, New York. Luckily my new adapter arrived in just one day, unluckily my whole laptop crashed a week later! I begged Santa Claus to send me a new laptop but apparently I was unsubscribed from his list! :)

In January my brand new Mac Book (I’m a Mac) arrived. As much as I wanted to write my newsletter most of my time was now devoted to catching up on client work now that my working laptop was in my hands. At the same time I was renovating my business and planning my wedding. I was a tad busy!

Now while I think newsletters are very important part of marketing and I value them tremendously I had to put it on hold while I renovated my business, organized my wedding, prepared for our new home and continued servicing clients. Besides socializing on Twitter I had done very little marketing and relied on referrals and my brand to attract new business.

2009 has proven to be my best year yet! Not only did I get married to my sweetheart in March, not only will we move into our new home in October, not only do I feel healthier than ever but it is my most profitable year so far!

I may not get back into writing my newsletter just yet, but I will be more active on this blog, on my WordPress blog, Facebook and on Twitter. So stay tuned as I will be sharing more tech tips, business tips and my upcoming adventurous events with you!

2008 Holiday Giveaway

One of the joys of the holiday season is giving. Sharing with others is one of the true joys of life.  So in the spirit of giving, I was asked by my friend and business associate, Tammy Landau,  what gift I had that I could share with others.  Tammy also asked many others for gifts as well and she was pleasantly surprised by the nice selection of gifts!

Some of these gifts will help you improve your life – others will help you improve your business.  But one thing is for sure – in these difficult economic times, we can use all the help we can get.  If you are ready to make some real progress in 2009, be sure to take advantage of these gifts.

Taking action is the surest predictor of success.  If you want to be more successful, take action.  Take advantage of these generous gifts and get off to a fast start in 2009.

But get your gifts now.  Opportunity is fleeting.  These gifts are only available for a limited time.  Come the New Year  the gifts will be gone.

So explore the lists of gifts and select as many as you like.  They are all free.  Take them and then use them.

Click here to claim your gifts from the 2008 Holiday Giveaway.

Here’s wishing you and your family a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

A Cool New Headset Option For Home, Mobile and VOIP

I just purchased a Plantronics Calisto. Plantronics is definitely the best brand to purchase and it’s praised by many coaches.

This phone is not like other phones or headsets. It has a handset, a wireless earpiece and speaker phone capabilities. You can use the wireless headset for your phone, your computer (ie. use it with skype or voip) or you can use it on your bluetooth cell phone. You can also use the wireless headset to work with Dragon
Naturally Speaking
to transcribe your dictation into text!

It also stores up to 200 contacts and will sync with your Outlook contact list!

I really love the phone, although I found in one room of the house it causes static. I haven’t figured out why yet, I suspect interference with other electrical appliances.

You can purchase the phone from Amazon.com. Canadians you can purchase the phone from www.greennet.ca

A Google Search Tip to Save You Time and Frustration

There are times when I’m searching for something on the web that I’ve come across previously. That might be an article that I want to read again, a blog post that I want to refer to in my blog posts or a resource I want to send to someone else.

If I search Google I will get a ton of search results that may not return the specific content I am looking for, so instead I tell Google which site to search and which keywords I want Google to search for in that site.

So here’s how you do it. Go to www.Google.com (obviously right?) and in the search bar enter “site:[websiteaddresshere]” for example: “site:www.techcoachforcoaches.com money“. Press “search”. The results will only contain posts, pages, etc from the site you specified.

This especially speeds things up when you want to let a client or potential client know where your hot article on “[Insert hot topic here]” is on your site! :)
