Download All the Links or Images Contained in a Webpage
Recently an awesome client of mine asked me to create a quote for recreating one of her sites using WordPress and importing all of her posts from her TypePad blog. But there’s 1 problem! When you export from TypePad your images are not included in the export file. So what can you do?
TypePad suggest downloading each jpg, gif and png individually within “control panel” -> “files”, of your TypePad account. This is ok if you have less than 10 images, but she has over 350 images (most people who have been blogging for 4 years will have about this many images as well!)
DownThemAll, a cool FireFox add-on will download all of the images, videos, audios and/or links contained within a webpage! So I went through all of her blog archive pages and download them all (under “tools” in FireFox click “DownThemAll! Tools” -> “DownThemAll”)
Tip: Under “configure” -> “preferences” in TypePad, you can change the number of blog posts that display in the archive page from 10 to 50. This will decrease the number of archive blog pages you will need to visit and download all the images.
Happy Blogging!
