How Can I Create my Own TinyURL?

You may have come across website addresses that begin with http://www.tinyurl.com.  These mini web addresses are created to replace a long website’s address (such as a link to a map at mapquest, or an affiliate link).  The reason why they have gained in popularity is because they are easy to remember and they don’t “break” in an email.  Have you ever received a link to a web address in an email where the link didn’t work?  Chances are it was too long therefore it ran along two lines and the link “broke”.

To create your own tinyurl go to http://www.tinyurl.com, paste your long web address into the form provided and click “Make TinyURL!”.  Your long web address will be processed and a smaller URL (uniform resource locator a.k.a. web address) will be created.  Copy this new URL into your emails and you are set.

You are unable to choose what the end of the URL will be, as it generates the URL randomly.  This service is complimentary.
