Shorten Those Long URLs

I bet you have had to send a long website address to someone via email.  Perhaps the link was too long and by the time the receipient tried to click on it, the link had broken (split over 2 or more lines).  So what can you do?

Take that link and shorten it.

  1. Go to www.snipurl.com
  2. Copy the long url into the “long url” field
  3. On the right you’ll see “nickname”. Here you can specify what you want the link’s nickname to be such as http://www.snipurl.com/coach, where “coach” is the nickname.  This makes it easier for you to remember the link if you ever had to reuse it.
  4. Click snip it.
  5. On the next page your new snipurl will be created, copy it and use it.

Happy sniping!

    Hey Sandra,

Great tip! And people can also sign-up for a free account with Snipurl and save all of your snipped URL’s in case you want to use them again. I keep all of my affiliate links in there and it’s really handy.

Just make sure to give your links a name or description that will make it easy and quick to find them again later.

Hope you’re having fun on your camping trip!

    Linda
