Two monitors are better than one!

If you are a multitasker like I am you’ll appreciate this post!

I often have 6 or more windows open.  One will be my email, another will be FireFox with many tabs open to various favourite websites, 1 or 2 Excel spreadsheets, possibly a Word document and one or more instant messaging windows.  I find myself flipping back and forth between all of these windows, do you find yourself doing the same thing?

Here’s the solution:

1) Grab that old monitor that’s in your basement (or treat yourself to a new one!)

2) If you are using a laptop, plug your monitor to your laptop and follow the instructions on Microsoft’s site: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/northrup_multimon.mspx

These instructions also teach you how to use an old laptop’s monitor and how to add a 2nd monitor to your desktop computer.

Pretty cool eh!?

So now you can have your email appear on one monitor while you work on the other monitor!

Beware your family and co-workers will think you are either super efficient or super geeky – there’s nothing wrong with either one of those judgements! :D

If you like this post, please consider buying me a coffee.
